IDF Webinar to Focus on Body Temperature and Fever Response
share

The Immune Deficiency Foundation is hosting its second PI CONNECT Research Forum Webinar focusing on body temperature and fever response. This webinar is exclusively available to PI CONNECT Research Forum users and can be accessed at: primaryimmune.org/body-temperature-and-fever-response-upcoming-pi-connect-research-webinar

This topic is particularly important for two reasons. First, some patients present with a lower body temperature than normal (98.6 degrees), which means a slight fever could be overlooked by a medical provider even when an infection is present. Second, other patients have no temperature increase, or fever, when an infection is present, meaning an infection could be overlooked.

Guest presenters Philip A. Mackowiak, MD, emeritus professor of medicine, and Jeff Hasday, MD, PhD, professor of pathology, biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, will explain these occurrences and provide attendees with valuable knowledge they can use to improve their visits with medical providers.

The webinar will take place on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 8 PM ET, with introductions and moderation by Kathleen Sullivan, MD, PhD, principal investigator for PI CONNECT.
